REXBURG VISIT
The Rexburg sand dunes. The kids couldn't stop quoting Napolean Dynamite while we were there.
Bruce, dreaming again....
Gavin and Addi
An actual american high school football game
Marissa and Cole
How many cousins would be too many cousins on a trampoline at any given time??
We had so much fun just visiting and relaxing. Rexburg should be closer to Calgary....
THE RELAXING TRIP HOME- REXBURG CAVES
Keeping with our nature/ caving adventures on the way down to Utah, we decided to check out another cave on the way home. We stayed a couple of days in Rexburg on the way home from Provo, to visit, and relax. It was so nice to not be in a hurry!!
Scott suggested we might like the Civil Defense Cave just north of Rexburg. The entrance is not marked, so we went on a bit of a scenic tour of the sage brush and lava fields, but that's ok because I was laughing the whole time about the memory of Craig in the same terrain as he was on alert for snakes :)
The cave was totally cool. Really, it's just an empty lava tube, where the lava once ran, and then emptied out leaving a cave behind. Too bad the pictures don't do it justice....again.

the picnic on the side of the parking lot / road after dropping off Ross. Blomfields were there to get Peter settled at BYU.
ROAD TRIP TO THE MTC
I'm so far behind in blogging (this is why I was never even going to start a blog in the first place, lol). Instead of writing a lot of stuff about what's been going on - I'll just post the pictures, and hope you already knew the news, hahah.
Just one quick explanation though. August 22, 2010 we left Calgary with a van very full of people and stuff on our way to take Ross to the MTC. We drove for 2 hours and stopped to pick up our dear friend Mackenzie Chiles who was headed back to BYU for another year. The timing worked out perfectly to be able to take her down with us, and save her parents a bunch of money. Plus, the more the merrier on a road trip!! Luckily we had a roof rack, Ross was only allowed limited luggage, and Kenzie has travelled so much, that she fits into hardly any luggage too. The seating arrangements may have been squishy, but I never heard a word of complaint, and we had a great time together.
We stopped at Lewis and Clark Caverns on the way down, to make it a bit like a family holiday. Last time we were there Ross was just little. Taking pictures in a cave is like taking pictures in a school gym - an art that I have yet to master.

Our guide, and a formation that resembles an ice-cream sundae
Kenzie SMILING for a picture... My kids have much to learn when it comes to SMILING for a picture instead of making a face, haha.
See - smiling again!
the tunnel out.
Mmmmmm! 5Guys! in Idaho Falls (not exactly 'on the way', but oh so tasty!)
Hmm.... Leave the kids alone in Target for a few minutes, and they start playing dress-up... silly kids.
